We have been working on a website for a customer for the last couple of weeks.  We are in the final steps and he decided to move his domain to us so we could easily manage the process.  I explained to him that he needed to go to his registrar and ask for an EPP code.  This security code is used to ensure that it is the customer transferring the domain and not some other person.  He was transferred several times to find out that the domain that he registered over 4 years ago did not belong to him, but that it belonged to the web hosting company that he used to register the domain. 

I thought he was just joking, so I called the company myself .  After being transferred several times the customer service representative explained to me that the domain was not owned by the customer BUT that it was owned by the webhosting company.  She also explained that for a release fee of 99.00 dollars they would release the domain and we would be able to transfer the domain to JICHOST.COM. 

I still cannot believe that this HUGE Company takes advantage of people by registering the domain to them.  They were offering FREE domain registration.  Well, it is free as long as you are hosting with them but the moment that you want to transfer your domain to another registrar they place this HUGE transfer fee of $99.00 dollars.

The web hosting company that shall remain anonymous, offered them free 90 days hosting and a few other things but he opted for the personal and professional service that we are known for.  As you all know, JICHOST.COM is dedicated to provide you with the best webhosting experience at the best possible price and that is our promise.

Last year I decided to offer our customers spam filtering service.  Today more than 48 domains are subscribed to our Spam Filtering Service.  How does it work?  Last month in February over 57,340 emails were received.  Out of this number only 3771 emails were good.  That means that over 53,569 emails were spam!  Over 1700 emails contained viruses.
